Vetal Stories वेतालपञ्चविंशति

The files are (txt has the original Harvard-Kyoto transliteration, itx has the ITRANS, and html has Devanagari with Unicode support):

txt | itx | html - Stories 0 - 5
txt | itx | html - Stories 6 - 10
txt | itx | html - Stories 11 - 15
txt | itx | html - Stories 16 - 20
txt | itx | html - Stories 21 - 25

These twenty-five Vetal (or Betal) stories (in five files) in Harvard-Kyoto transliteration scheme have been copied from Jambudvipa.
They were converted to itrans format using the format converter available from Script Converter - local copy.
The converted ITRANS file was inserted in a wrapper (between the last ## pair) for processing using the itrans program.
The ITRANS files were further edited using a three-line perl script. The editing was done to simply replace / with | and insert lots of <br>s.
There is another perl script which takes HK file and converts it to ITRANS directly. This script also brings the numbering from top of every sloka to the end of the second line of the sloka.
The final html files were obtained using:
itrans -i file.itx -o file.html

Creating and Viewing Documents in Devanagari

If you cannot see "sanskritam shikshaamahai" in Devanagari at the top then either a Unicode font with Devanagari support doesn't exist on your computer or you haven't set the browser to use an appropriate font. To view and create documents in Devanagari and other Indian Scripts is fairly straightforward. Please have a look at my notes on how to view and create documents in Indian Scripts.
