LECTURER: Dr
Andrew Lambert x8351 email:
a-lambert@adfa.edu.au
GENERAL INFORMATION:
This unit consists of 40 hours (3 credits)
for the undergraduate and group A postgraduate students, with the
postgraduate students contributing an additional project towards
assessment. The lectures will be held in TR9 lecture theatre. The
laboratory sessions, which will run during the lecture time, will
be held in the ITSC PC-terminal laboratory (under Lecture Theatres
North) using Matlab and the Visual DSP development environment donated
by Analog Devices. Some laboratory classes will also be held in
the ITSC Macintosh laboratory (also under Lectures Theatres North),
to use actual DSP hardware. The timetable is structured such that
postgraduate students will study the same course as the undergraduates,
and supplementary assessment in project form. This allows postgraduate
students to refresh subject matter normally confined to the undergraduate
course. To facilitate this we will have some three hour lecture
blocks for all students, some one hour blocks on Wednesday for all
students, some free lecture blocks on Wednesday for undergraduates
which will contain postgraduate project consultation instead. Hopefully
this will not be too confusing. The ITSC labs are useable outside
these times, including after hours access using your CARDAX ID card.
NOTES ON THE WEB: http://www.ee.adfa.edu.au/staff/ajl/dsp
I will endeavour to place the notes for each
section on a web page, which will also include this document, and
other resources such as movies, java applets, example m-files, links
to documentation, assessments etc. The documents will be in PDF
format, and you should download them and print them at your leisure.
These notes and all included documents and resources on the web
page are for the use of enrolled students only.
