Background
Dr Geoff Cochrane and Professor John Baird are both currently members of :
the International Electro Technical Committee (IEC) TC 76 ( Laser Safety ).
Australian Standards Laser Safety Committee (SF 19), and
the Laser Safety Sub-Committee which is responsible for Laser Safety in the Australian Defence Force,Both are active in the development of new International and National laser safety standards and in the ammendment of existing standards. They have been presenting Laser Safety Courses for 14 years, ranging from introductory half day courses to advanced five day courses.
Dr Cochrane and Professor Baird have collectively over 45 years of research experience involving laser applications and holography.
Their philosophy on best practice in laser safety is set out in a paper presented to the International Laser Safety Conference at Orlando, Florida.
